The book starts out with a Will being read. It states that Javier must be married by his 36th Birthday or the family bank will be awarded to his cousin. His grandfather wanted the bank to remain a family business.Grace's father has embezzled money from the bank in order to take care of his wife that was very sick, and latter died. Grace knows her father will never survive prison. She goes to Javier to beg him to drop the charges against her father. She is willing to work off the debt. She will do anything to save her father. She was stumped when Javier asked her to marry him. He needed a wife, so why not marry Grace. It would only be for a year.
I loved how they lived in a castle. It gave the book a fairy tale feel to it. The story was an emotional journey between Grace, and Javier. I wished the two would have talked sooner, and told the other how they felt. They almost waited too long. To me it seemed like it almost took too long for the couple to find happiness together. I am glad they did get the HEA!

The Spanish Duke Virgin Bride Mills Boon comics eBook CHANTELLE SHAW KISHIMOTO KEIKO Keiko Kishimoto Reviews
Exquisite from start to finish, this story never lets you down or lagged. It was believable and the hero didn't disappoint. The heroin of the story was not exactly tough and outspoken but again that's not what the hero needed in this story. I read in two hours because I could not put it down. I will keep it in my kindle forever.
A dominant hero and an innocent heroine who gives her heart to the "villain". Nice, quick read. I got what I asked for
Not horrible- but I did not enjoy it.
Basically the h was way too shrilly and immature for tastes.
Her father stole a very large amount of money from the H and the h whined and whined about how mean he was for wanting some kind of compensation. Just irritating.
Wonderful book!! Strong, powerful, gorgeous, rich, supremely alpha male hero who never knew love as a child. Sweet, lovely, gentle heroine who was just the woman to show him what he'd been missing. Rocky start, then a slow slide into true love. Beautiful!!
I took a chance upon seeing the other reviewer's note and was pleasantly surprised. It was reminiscent of 'Beauty and the Beast' with a sweet but spunky heroine taming a tall, dark, arrogant, and handsome (this is Harlequin) hero who doesn't believe in love. The attraction between them was obvious from the start, and one can see how he gradually falls under her charms and opens his heart under her gentle influence. Now if only Harlequin came up with better titles...
The Spanish Duke's Virgin BrideThis book was as good as the other reviewers said...and I'm a tough audience. The story is basically about a spanish duke who has to get married in two months or lose his inheritance..similarly the heroine goes to him to plead for mercy for her father who swindled his company out of 3 million. The father is painted as a tragic, grief stricken man who embezzled the money to get medical help for his dying wife. The hero, desperate to preserve his inheritance pardons the heroine's dad on grounds that she marries him for a year. We've heard that plot before but this time it was different. How this story was written, I forgot it was the same old plot. The writer was able to capture in harlequin format the basic premise of the fairy tale Beauty and the Beast. It was not over done or too outlandish. The chemistry between the two was sizzling. We could see both characters fall in love. The heroine fell in love with the hero AFTER she got to know him and see his heart--which made the story more realistic. Both characters were likable and the heroine had a brain and responded appropriately to the circumstances. All in all well done.
I really couldn't put this book down and I liked both the H and the h. I liked the way we slowly got to see the H's vulnerabilities in spite of him being so alpha. I thought their chemistry was amazing and that's why I thought that the sexual tension dragged on for far too long. I could also have done without the big drama towards the end, it was actually quite unpleasant and not what I want to read in a romance. Anyway it was still a great book and well worth reading.
