The Adventures of Thelma the Uncivil Servant is a raunchy, no-holds barred and completely fictional account of a British Civil Servant and part-time stand-up comic being dragged into a plot to bring about the downfall of the Government. Will Louise Benedict do the right thing and step in to save the day? Or will she keep her eyes on the prize, a coveted live Tv spot, and let the Government go hang?

Jenny HaynesThe Adventures of Thelma the Uncivil Servant
Absolutely brilliant. I simply can't give a better endorsement. This is British humor at its finest, taking the mickey out of governments, pretentious mores, and the ladder of success. This makes the TV series The Office look like boring kindergarten play. I have always considered British humor the finest in the world, and Haynes surpasses even that. The Adventures of Thelma the Uncivil Servant takes you on a roller coaster ride that leaves you gasping for breath. The laughs are so frequent you get the feeling that this is "death by wit," and so entertaining you don't even object. It is a detective story with one twist after another that leaves you ultimately satisfied with a feel good ending that is delightful rather than clichéd. This is a must read for anyone in search of downright fun, and a training manual for anyone who works in an office. Its lessons will shockproof you to anything that happens. It's a "how to" manual for laughing at life, a truly divine comedy that would get even Dante giggling.

The Adventures of Thelma the Uncivil Servant Jenny Haynes 9781312438835 Books Reviews
What a great story with the whole ball of wax...wry, nay caustical comedic humor, drama, violence, sex,(poor Thelma can't keep her knickers on...backwards or forwards...or is that AC/DC?), and oh yeah, drugs and politics. Have fun and become a new person in the deal!
